So, the cartoon is humorous, is it not?! Well, the point of the matter is that, in order to succeed at life, one needs to be successful while in school in academics, particularly English language arts, specifically: reading, writing, and articulation skills. Without these, life opportunities will pass you by and, in the end, you will be left behind as the cartoon implies.
My sincere intent then for all my students is that they should walk away from this course at the end of this school year with the tools they need to be those people who will be successful in life and stand out from the rest of the crowd in a notable and contributory manner because they worked diligently to reach that high point.
